“There is something about myofascial release, as soon as they get involved with it, clients intuitively know that this is important for their recovery, and therapists know it is important for their practice”. John Barnes
- What is the difference between a myofascial release under the water and a traditional myofascial release on a table?
R= Both techniques are great but myofascial release under the water has the following advantages:
- Faster release
- Less pain (good pain)
- Use intuitive movement
- How many sessions of myofascial release under the water do I need to release my fascia?
R= Everyone is different but usually to re-establish flexibility in the fascia (connective tissue) it will take between 1 to 6 treatments. After this, it is recommended to do maintenance to preserve a healthy fascia once every month or two.
- When is AquaStretch Myofascial Release contraindicated?
R= If the client has:
- Muscle tear
- Bone fracture
- Recent surgery
- Water phobia
- Not shown response to the first session
- What should I bring to the pool?
R= Wear appropriate aquatic apparel, no water shoes during the session but sandals or shoes for entering and exiting the pool.
- Who created these techniques?
R= Myofascial Release on a table was developed by John Barnes and AquaStretch Myofascial Release under the water was created by George Eversaul.
6. What do I need to get train?
